ILLUSTRATIONS (BOOKS)
Juan Batlle Planas illustrated a number of volumes of literature by poets and writers like Enrique Molina, Julio Cortázar, Alberto Girri, Olga Orozco, Lyzandro Galtier, Julio Llinás, Rafael Alberti, Osvaldo Svanascini, Horacio J. Becco, Leopoldo Marechal, Vicente Barbieri, Aldo Pellegrini, Héctor Germán Oesterheld, Alejandra Pizarnik, Luisa Mercedes Levinson, Jorge Luis Borges, Rodolfo Godino, and others.

Murals
Starting in 1950, Batlle Planas made a number of murals in Buenos Aires. Prestigious architects like Mario Roberto Álvarez, José Aslan, and Hector de Ezcurra commissioned him to make murals for constructions that combined art and architecture.

Grabados 40-50
In 1925, he made his first prints in the tool and dye workshop he shared with his uncle, José Planas Casas. He would use printmaking techniques in a number of later series and even return to some of those early images in the nineteen-sixties.

IMAGE NOTEBOOKS

BOXES – SCULPTURES – OBJECTS
During the nineteen-fifties, Batlle Planas made small and medium-sized boxes (none of those works has survived, though photographs of them have). In 1960, he held an exhibition entitled Cajas, or boxes, at Van Riel gallery. In 1954, he exhibited sculptures, plates, and vessels at Comte gallery.
